Here are a few lessons I've learned about love from movies.
Love makes you do some silly things.
Love can be confusing. "I would never want to belong to a club that would have someone like me for a member"- Annie Hall.
Love doesn't always mean happily ever after. What a depressing thought. "Love fades..." Annie Hall.
But when you meet the right person, love can be special. "They say when you meet the love of your life time stops, and that's true."- Big Fish
If you are lucky enough, it could even be your best friend.
While you are still searching for your true love, you know your pet will be there to love you.
Love means there is someone out there for you to help you hide all your flaws and imperfections.
You know when you are ready when all you can think about is her/him.
"When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."- When Harry Met Sally
Most importantly, true love is worth fighting for. What could be more noble than that?

Someone to watch movies with.
If I can dream up the perfect person to watch movies with I think she might be something like this...
She can recite any lines from 'The Lion King'.
If she can have any car in the world, it would be the DeLorean. And, she would know to be careful not to exceed 88 mph just to be on the safe side.
She knows what droids they were looking for.
She'll have what she's having.
She has a bigger crush on Natalie Portman than I do.
It's ok if she gets teary from the starting sequence from 'UP'.
She's silly enough to watch 'Anchorman', but serious enough to appreciate 'Wild Strawberries'.
Holiday times mean watching 'Elf', 'Love Actually' and 'Hannah and her Sisters'.
She doesn't mind my obsession with Woody Allen movies. And she thinks it's cute one of my main reason for wanting to visit NYC is so I can run into him.
She has thought at least once that erasing your memories of someone like in 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' wouldn't be such a bad idea.
Her favorite documentary is 'Hoop Dreams'.
Her favorite movie is 'The Princess Bride'.
She thinks soundtrack to 'Garden State' is a soundtrack to her own life.
She always has movies I need to check out and books I need to read.
Most of all, she just loves movies as much as I do. And I think that's pretty neat.

The most memorable moment of your life...

It was one of those gorgeous spring sunday afternoons. We were at the local cafe drinking coffee and reading when she suddenly turned to me with those big blue eyes and asked,
"Tell me, what would you say is the most memorable moment you've had in your life so far?"
Naturally, I was caught off guard by the question. But, I kept my cool and quickly drifted away into thought.
'Let's see, most memorable moment?... hmm.. that one time I hit the game winning shot at the buzzer in high school, my first kiss, the first time finishing a marathon, that west coast road trip I had with my buddies, graduations, birthdays, when my parents brought home a puppy, first time at Wrigley, kickass concerts, that weekend in Vegas, that time I got to sit court side for a Bulls game, first time watching Hannah and Her Sisters and Wild Strawberries...'
As random moments of my life were processing through my head, I could not help but notice how beautiful she looked sitting across from me patiently awaiting my answer. Maybe it was the way the sunlight was hitting across her face or the extra shot of expresso I ordered. To this day, I'm still not sure. But, suddenly my thoughts became very clear.
'I love the way those lines form around her mouth whenever she smiles, the way she giggles at my jokes, her unique style, the way her eyes light up whenever we pass an ice cream store, how she can sleep through two of her unearthly loud alarm clocks every morning, the intense look she gets whenever she's trying to parallel park, the look on her face when she practices her violin or paints her pictures, the way she hugs me when I get home, the way she hums whenever she gets bored, how happy she makes me feel every morning knowing someone as kind, smart and beautiful as her could love someone as plain as me.'
For the first time in my life I was content with everything and it was all because of her. Without giving anymore thought, I replied,
"All the moments I've had so far are nothing compared to the wonderful moments that I plan on making with you. So I guess my answer is that my most memorable moment is still yet to come."
"Awww..." She responded with the tone of voice she uses whenever she talks to her dog.
"I was going to take our first date as an acceptable answer, but I guess that'll do too."
She smiled at me and quickly broke into laughter. I couldn't help but join in. She may not have realized just how honest and sincere my answer was but I didn't care. Because at that moment, I was happy just knowing that I had someone to share these laughters with for the rest of my life.

Short Story about Love...

Hello there. I know we’ve just met, and that you don’t know me very well. However, I feel that I’ve known you my entire life. Don’t ask me how, but it just feels that way. Well, I just have some things that I want to tell you before I left. Here it goes…
How do you tell someone how you feel when you’re not even sure if you can even describe the feelings or the thoughts that you have? I once saw a little boy playing with a puppy, and anyone who saw that boy could not have missed seeing the joy radiating from the little boy’s face. Well, I guess what I’m trying to say is that being around you makes me feel like that little boy… too touchy?
Let me start over…
I have always felt this emptiness in my life for as long as I can remember. I want to be optimistic about life, and believe in the goodness of humanity. But, just seeing the extent that people put themselves through in order to cause each other pain, and the creativity we use to hurt one another makes it hard for me to be optimistic about the world. Just when I was at my lowest, and thought everything was lost, I witnessed a glimpse of hope. I could not take my eyes off of your beautiful face. I never thought one person could light up an entire room. The entire world! Seeing you made me realize that there are still some good left in this world. Maybe, that life isn’t all that bad… too philosophical?
All right, I’ll get to the point…
You are the most beautiful girl that I have ever laid my eyes on, and I just wanted to let you know that I will always love you and be there for you for as long as I live. Oh, I could stare into your eyes all day. I hope you never lose your innocence or your lovely smile, because when you smile, the whole world smile with you.
(from outside the room a voice calls out)- Honey, are you in the baby’s room? (the wife enters the room) Oo. Here you are. What are you still doing in your shorts! Come on, get dressed, the babysitter will be here any moment. What are you waiting for? We’re going to be late for the movie.
-I’ll be out in a sec. (wife leaves the room). Don’t tell your mom about what I just told you, she gets very jealous rather too easily. I’m sure you’ll have plenty of time to find out about that. Good night, and be nice to the babysitter. Love you!
